A crash involving an ambulance and a pickup truck Saturday night claimed the life of an Illinois EMT and a passenger in the truck. EMT Richard Poorman, 52, of West Union, as well as the patient he was working on were ejected after the ambulance overturned after it was sideswiped by a pickup truck, according to the News-Gazette. Poorman was pronounced dead at Crawford Memorial Hospital, while his patient was flown to a hospital. A passenger in the truck, Stephen H. Daugherty, 45, of West Union, was pronounced dead at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana., reports indicated. State police reported that Dottie A. Bright, 37, was driving a Chevrolet pickup truck east on Clark County Road 300 N when she reportedly failed to stop at the intersection with Illinois 1 in rural Clark County at 9:09 p.m. Saturday, according to the News-Gazette.
